You know CAO. They make beautiful boutique cigars that not only taste great and sell like hot dogs at a bun convention, but boast some of the most unique blend recipes you'll find. Italia, Brazilia, Colombia, to name a few. And they do it by utilizing leaf from all over tarnation, but each CAO has a unique, unmistakable flavor and aroma profile that can't be pigeonholed. Maybe that’s why they discontinued one of their best, CAO Criollo. See, the Criollo is intentionally a very traditional Nicaraguan puro aiming to capture true old school Cuban flair n finesse, and did so in most flavorable of fashion. But with a brand-wide move to make more exotic creations, perhaps they put the Criollo on permanent hold to keep status quo apropos. I can tell you first-hand these are every bit as deelish as I remember and they did the cigar world a disservice by discontinuing these gems. Medium-bodied, earthy and toasty with great spices but finish smooth and clean. Just $3.50 a pop.
